What is the church we see?

Cabin Lane Church is a community of followers of Jesus Christ, with a call to “build community, live with passion, offer your best and to make an impact for Jesus”. This is our identity and makes up how we go about (our ethos) what we do (our vision). Even our structure is designed to help this.

Build Community:  This is the core of who we are. Community is our strength and how we live out community is important to us. We see authentic, biblical community where people gather together in large and small groups being real and honest with each other; supporting one another in life; having fun; learning together, and welcoming and inviting anyone to join us on the journey of figuring out how to live like Jesus wants us to.

Live with Passion:  We don’t see life as dull. We want to be passionate about the things that matter. Jesus came to give us life to the full, so we encourage everyone to find, discover and experience that full life. When Jesus is at the centre, we can be directed to do the things that count, find purpose and meaning for our lives and to enjoy the richness of life. “Our quest is to have God’s character formed in us so that his passion might burn through us.” Church doesn’t have to be boring!

Offer Your Best:  We see a church known for offering its best in all it does. We seek to equip and release people to enable them to give their very best. We desire to offer quality in all that we do & provide. We recognise that God has always given his best for us so he deserves our best response in worship and in commitment.

Make an Impact:  Because the news about Jesus is good news, it enables us to be a haven of hope, where people can find purpose and acceptance. We can have a concern for the poor and help towards those in need. But also in all that we do, what we say and the way we live, we see a church living out a life that reflects the reality of Jesus Christ to all. This mission is the focus of our identity and flows through everything. So we step out in faith and leave the rest to Jesus!
